MAKING FRIENDS AT DEAR
DEAR (Daily Enrichment Activities for Rehabilitation)
DEAR (Daily Enrichment Activities for Rehabilitation) Program of SHARE is which is to serve persons with mental and physical disabilities led happier more independent lives. DEAR is innovative in its approach to teaching life and social skills for moderately to severely challenged clients in an adaptive classroom environment. DEAR’s PAES Lab helps clients to learn daily living skills, social skills and possibly transition into the work world. PAES Lab is hands on and when clients have completed; they know what they're good at, know their strengths, proper work behavior and know which field to explore careers. The majority of the DEAR clients live with family now, but as time goes by these family members may not be able to care for them; therefore, the life skills acquired through our classroom is greatly needed for independence. Many graduating from the high schools is limited in community resources for re-learning in the subjects of geography, history, Georgia history, basic math and reading skills; however, DEAR reinforces what they already learned.

DEAR Enrichment Activities
DEAR gets a helping hand. At Share, we consider ourselves a family. During last week’s storm, we unfortunately lost a tree near the building; fortunately, it did not cause any damage. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bison’s Uncle James, who came to our aid and expertly managed the situation. He also took the opportunity to demonstrate to our wonderful clients how to safely cut and clear fallen trees. We sincerely appreciate Bison’s family for their willingness to lend a helping hand. |
